Total Vision

Beijing Total Vision Culture Spreads CO., LTD (hereafter referred to as Total Vision), founded in 2004, is a private culture enterprise. The company’s main business is the exportation of copyrights on comic books; at the same time, it’s also engaged in exhibition, creation, production, consulting, services, and other business about comics.

From 2007 to 2018, the copyrights exported by Total Vision to France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Holland, Spain, Portuguesa, Denmark, the United Kingdom, America, Brazil, Argentina and other countries has accumulated more than 170 in total and the total printed volume of these comics is about 1.1million. The number of copyrights exported to Europe and the United States by Total Vision accounts for more than 90% of the total number of China, which has greatly promoted Chinese comics “Going out”. Total Vision has imported more than 90 copyrights on comic books from France, United States, British, Argentina, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Canada, and other countries since 2013.

From 2009 to 2018, Total Vision has been continuously approved as “Key Enterprise of National Culture Export” by the Central Propaganda Department, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture, SARFT and SAPPRFT for 10 consecutive years.

Total Vision is the only Chinese company that has participated in the internationally prestigious “French Angouleme International Comics Festival” for 15 consecutive years. The company has devised, organized and participated in more than 80 activities about comics such as exhibitions, lectures, exchanges in China, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Spain, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Argentina, and South Korea, etc. In these activities, Total Vision has invited a number of foreign artists, playwrights, comic book publishers, magazine operators, and professors of art colleges to China, and also has arranged a number of Chinese artists to go abroad. It has promoted the communication between Chinese and foreign artists and amateurs, played an important role in promoting Chinese comics to open up the international market.

Due to the achievements made in the aspect of Chinese culture going out, Total Vision was invited to attend the “National Advanced Units for News and Publishing” commendation meeting held at the Great Hall of the People in 2012.

  • In 2005, Total Vision organized the “Beijing First French Comic Con”, invited 75 people from French comic industry, publishers and art schools to the event.
  • In 2008, Total Vision participated in the China Pavilion exhibition organized by the Chinese Ministry of Culture in French Angouleme International Comics Festival.
  • In 2008, Total Vision planned and co-hosted the “Chinese Comic Works Invitation Exhibition” with the German Erlangen International Cartoon Festival Organizing Committee. The company invited 12 Chinese artists to participate in the signature sale and cultural exchange activities.
  • In 2009, Total Vision participated in the China Pavilion exhibition organized by the General Administration of Press and Publication in Frankfurt Book Fair.
  • In 2009, Total Vision’s work “Pekin” won the original works support from Ministry of Culture’s “Original Animation Support Program (2009)”.
  • In 2009, Total Vision was approved as “Key Enterprise of National Culture Export” by Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture, SARFT and SAPPRFT.
  • In 2009, Total Vision planned the “Italian Napoli International Comic Salon and Chinese Comics Exhibition” and was also invited to host it.
  • In 2010, Total Vision planned and organized the “2010 Beijing International Comics Exhibition” held at Animation School of Beijing Film Academy, invited 15 French artists to participate in it.
  • In 2010, Total Vision was approved as “Zhongguancun High-tech Enterprise” by Zhongguancun Science Park Management Committee.
  • In 2010, Total Vision became the director unit of China Animation Industry Alliance.
  • In 2011, Total Vision’s “Copyright Export Plan for 50 Chinese Original Comics” was listed in SAPPRFT’s twelfth five-year period project library of the Press and Publication Reform and Development.
  • In 2011, Total Vision invited 17 leaders of publishers from France, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Canada, Poland and other countries to participate in the European and American Comics Invitational Exhibition at “2011 Hangzhou International Cartoon & Animation Festival”.
  • In 2012, Total Vision was approved as “Key Enterprise of National Culture Export” by Central Propaganda Department, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture and SAPPRFT.
  • In 2012, the company’s work “The Height of the Corner” won the silver medal in the 6th China Original Mobile Animation Comic and Game Contest;
  • In 2012, the company’s copyright exported work “Yin Yin and the Dragon Birthmark” won second award for narrative comics in the First National Original Animation Image Contest “Anime Beijing”.
  • In 2012, the comic book “A minor god” introduced by Total Vision won gold award for the best overseas comics in China International Comics Festival.
  • In 2012, Nie Chongrui’s work “Nie Xiaoqian” got support from General Administration of Press and Publication of its 2012 “Motive Power” China Original Anime Publishing Support Plan.
  • In 2012, Total Vision invited 6 artists from France, Germany, Italy and other countries to participate in the European Comics Invitation Exhibition at “2012 Guangzhou International Comics Festival”.
  • In 2012, the company’s copyright exported work “Judge Bao” was selected as “the most popular work of the year” by the French “The Parisian” and broke the 40-year single sales record of the French Angouleme International Comics Festival.

  • In 2014, the company’s work “The Floating Temple” won “Golden Monkey King Award” for best comic in China International Cartoon & Animation Festival and “Golden Elephant Award” for most popular comic in 2014 French Chambéry International Comic Festival. The comic book “Blacksad”, which was introduced by Total Vision, won “Golden Monkey King Award” for best overseas comic in China International Cartoon & Animation Festival.

  • In 2014, Total Vision planned and organized the Chinese comics exhibition at the “7th Algerian International Comics Festival” in Algeria. The company’s copyright exported work “My Melody – Then” won the award for best comic skill in the 7th Algerian International Comics Festival.
  • In 2015, Total Vision undertook “Sanmao the Forever Young” exhibition sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China at the Seoul China Cultural Center in South Korea.
  • In 2016, Wang Ning was engaged as an advisor of the Chinese Culture translation and Studies Support Network by the Outreach Bureau of the Chinese Ministry of Culture and Beijing Language and Culture University.
  • In 2016, Total Vision jointly undertook the “Foreign Cartoonists Paint for Beijing” activity, which was sponsored by the Information Office of Beijing Municipality. Ten comic artists from France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Poland, Austria, and Argentina were invited to Beijing to participate in it.
  • In 2016, Total Vision undertook “The First Graphic Novel Festival” sponsored by the French Embassy at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. The company invited 8 Chinese and French artists to the event.

  • In 2016, Total Vision was approved as “2015-2016 Key Enterprise of National Culture Export” by Central Propaganda Department, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture and SAPPRFT.
  • In 2016, Total Vision’s “Copyright Export Plan for 50 Chinese Original Comics” was listed in “2015-2016 Key Projects of National Culture Export”. The project was successfully completed on time.
  • In 2017, Total Vision undertook the “Sanmao the Forever Young” exhibition sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China at the China Cultural Center in Sydney.
  • In 2017, the “2nd Graphic Novel Festival”, co-hosted by the French Embassy, the Animation Academy of Beijing Film Academy and Total Vision, was held at the Beijing Film Academy. 10 Chinese and French artists were invited to the event.
  • From April to June 2017, China Animation Comic Game Group and Total Vision jointly held “The Master Classes” in Beijing. 6 French artists and publishing editors were invited to teach the students.
  • In 2017, Total Vision was invited to participate in the Busan International Comics Festival in South Korea.、
  • In 2017, Total Vision undertook the “Sanmao the Forever Young” exhibition sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the People’s Republic of China at the China Cultural Center in Pakistan.

Wang Ning

Founder and General Manager

From 1989 to 2004, as animation production, animation design and animation director, Wang Ning participated in the animation production of the Barcelona Olympic Games mascot, the “Three Kingdoms”, “Fuukojis”, “The Son of the Sun”, “The Brothers of Haier”, “Little Mouse on Prairie” and dozens of animated feature films and short films. He also produced cartoons for CCTV and customers from many countries and regions, including Malaysia, France, Spain, the United States, and Hong Kong.

In 2004, Wang Ning established Beijing Total Vision Culture Spreads CO., LTD. As the earliest comic book agent to cooperate with European and American publishing companies, he has exported more than 100 original Chinese comics copyrights from more than 60 Chinese authors to European and American countries.

Wang Ning was engaged as a judge for many major domestic animation festivals such as China International Animation Festival, China International Comics Festival, Xiamen International Comics Festival, Asian Youth Animation Contest, etc. He also gave speeches about Chinese comics’ history and culture at many internationally renowned comic festivals, such as the Angouleme Comics Festival in France. Besides, Wang Ning is a guest lecturer to explain how Chinese comics are linked to the European market at more than ten universities, including the Beijing Film Academy, the Communication University of China, the China Academy of Art and the Central Academy of Fine Arts. 

The Great Piece of European Comics Exhibition organized by Wang Ning has been exhibited at China International Comics Festival, China (Changzhou) Animation Art Week, China International Comics Festival, Beijing (Xiedao) International Animation Expo and other national anime festivals. The exhibition has been shown at more than a dozen domestic animation festivals and a number of artistic colleges. It is very popular among local readers and professional college students.
